But the company is well aware that the herb that little Seedo will most be responsible for growing, is cannabis.
In fact, the device’s impressive growing abilities have been translated from the knowledge of the company’s founder, retired expert cannabis grower Yaakov Hai.
It can grow other things too but it’s safe to say, most people are using Seedo to grow weed.
A recent trial run of Seedo found that “Individual robots were able to produce between 100-120 grams of dried bud in just 90 days, giving clients an excellent product grown without using pesticide.”
A seed is placed in a nutrient-rich container (that will last for the plant’s growing cycle) and then placed inside Seedo who will take care of the rest.
The AgriTech firm also has a much larger version of its technology in the form of Seedo Farm.
Just a hunch though …
A state-of-the-art system that requires almost no knowledge of nutrients, grow cycles or lighting needs, the Seedo relies on a patent-pending LED adjustment system that monitors plant growth and automatically moves the lights accordingly. If changes must be made to the preselected grow plan, users can adjust settings in the self-sufficient unit via a connected app.
Marijuana enthusiasts are often passionate about many things, including their own hands and reflection, in addition to smoking the good stuff. But attention to detail generally isn’t one of their fortes, thusly process-oriented tasks, say at-home horticulture experimentation, can suffer at their hands.
Although the device can technically be used to grow other things like peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, parsley, oregano and mint, we’re pretty sure that its automated post-harvest drying system is mainly designed for use with the devil’s lettuce.
Airtight with built-in CO2 cartridges and A/C so there’s hardly a need to open the unit to let pests in or smells out, the interior of the Seedo can be monitored remotely via a built-in HD camera.
If you’re stoked for the 55-pound compact cannabis incubator, preorder one here for $1,400.
Combating forgetfulness in home botany adventures: the Seedo — basically a set it and forget it hydroponics grower.
Both the Grobo and Seedo systems operate off of an app system connected to WiFi. After you plant your seed, the internal systems within the grow box will track the health of the plant from initial sprout to final harvest. The temperature of the plant, its water level, pH level, and nutrients will all be monitored. The system will automatically recognize when the plant requires any of those components and will notify the app. The system also walks you through each step of the growing system. This makes it easy to grow even if you’ve never grown a plant before. Grobo has an awesome customer service team that can walk you through every aspect of how your Grobo will work.
